Email counselling
Email counselling allows you to take your time, consider what you want to say and write when the time feels beneficial for you. This can be when things are particularly difficult for you, or your mind feels clear and able to write what you want to say. Maybe it allows you to write when you have some time and space that is private.
Painful thoughts and feelings often get stuck in our mind which can cause stress, anxiety, depression, physical ailments. Some people find writing these down easier than talking face-to-face. Expressing yourself by writing can be extremely therapeutic and often a sense of relief is experienced on composing an email, this can be repeated on sending it to your counsellor. Writing can really help whether this is something happening now, or something that has happened in the past which you feel will benefit you to work through at this time.
Added therapeutic benefits gained by receiving a therapeutic email from your counsellor can be the validation, understanding and insight can feel quite powerful. When you receive an email you can open and read your response when you are ready and in your own time.

- You write and send an email in your own time. I will reflect on your writings and send you a therapeutic response.
- I will use an encrypted email account to ensure your privacy remains intact.
- Email counselling allows you to write an email in privacy, It gives you time to think about what you want to say.
- It also allows you more time to read and process responses plus you will have a written record of each interaction.
